Terms of Use

By downloading or using Settle (the "App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What Settle is

Settle is a tool for tracking shared expenses and balances between friends. It records and displays amounts you and your group members enter. Settle is a record-keeping tool only — it does not process, hold, transfer, or settle any money. Any actual payment between users happens outside the App (for example, via UPI or cash). Balances shown are based solely on what users enter.

2. Your account

You sign in using Apple, Google, or an email account. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old to use the App.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Do not upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you have no right to share.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its infrastructure.
• Do not misuse other users' information obtained through the App.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the expense data, images, and other content you add. You grant us the limited right to store and process it solely to operate the App and provide the service to you and your group members, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can report objectionable content or block another user from within the App; we review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms.

5. Accuracy of balances

Balances, splits, and settlement figures are computed from data entered by users and are provided for convenience. You are responsible for verifying any amount before relying on it or making a payment. We are not responsible for disputes between users over amounts owed.

6. Availability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Settle is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the App or from payments made between users.

8. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
